Remey’s Inspirations 03
Wandering around Centro, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Hi there! Hope last week was good to you!
I just got back from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This was my first trip in 2026, and I have a few days to clean, work, and prepare for my second trip for Lunar New Year. Like I said in my last podcast and inspiration note, I’m entering a very busy season, and I feel like 2026 is just going to keep speeding up. I’m anticipating more travels, more sunshine, more new faces, more ideas, and more more more. Which is all I’ve been manifesting since last year. I believe my lesson this year is to not let the Fire Horse go full speed all year long, but to enjoy the excitement in sustainable bursts. Pacing myself is the theme, and I’m already being tested. With back to back trips, cultural and family celebrations, I feel like my hibernation season is ending soon (if not already)
With that being said, I gotta get back to unpacking and packing again. Here are some inspirations for this week!
With love, Remey

I Trust The Chapter I’m Closing
I’m a huge fan of The Psychology of your 20’s. Even though I’m not Jemma’s core audience, I still listen to her podcast simply for her soothing voice. This podcast still has psychology studies as the backdrop, but it’s bit a bit less educational and more meditative.
Now that the year of the Snake is wrapping up, this episode fits the theme of trusting the ending and leaning into a version of oneself. I love that Jemma includes tools and reflection prompts to help the audience navigate the process of letting go. Definitely give this a listen if you need a moment to reflect on all the changes you're going though!
Culture
The Boyfriend - Season 2
Ok, you do need a Netflix subscription for this. But speaking of soothing and meditative, who would’ve thought that a reality TV show, let alone a dating show, especially a gay dating show, can be so peaceful and healing? I watched Season 1 and totally bought into the whole concept. I mean, working a coffee truck as first dates? How much more Japanese romantic comedy-drama can this get?
Although I do love dramatic reality TV once in a while (hello The Ultimatum), this show explores a different angle when it comes to dating. Finding love, and love itself, doesn’t have to feel all-consuming, “I have to fight for this” type of passion all the time. It can start with a simple handwritten note, and end with a quiet understanding that to love someone is to understand and love yourself.
Fashion
RED FLORAL CRANE BIRD TATTOO ÁO DÀI
Áo dài is a traditional Vietnamese attire, often worn during holidays and celebratory events like Lunar New Year and weddings. I love áo dài for its elegance, and would love to incorporate it into my daily wardrobe. When I saw this, I was blown away. Mixing the traditional form-fitting cut with cargo pants? Take my money. I love how this outfit captures the feminine essence of the traditional attire, but the pants give it a street twist. Like, it’s fucking hot. I’m literally about to book a trip to Vietnam right now to go shopping.
Music
Akira
If nostalgia is a sound, MICHELLE is it. The fashion, the aesthetic, the music. Also, as I’m writing this, I just found out that they just disbanded? WHAT? But I didn’t even get to see them live! Anyway, excuse me while I go down the rabbit hole of their origin story and their decision to disband.
