Remey’s Inspirations 02
I subscribed to the New York Times magazine to encourage myself to read slowly, instead of scrolling and skimming on my phone.
Hi there! Hope you had a restful weekend. I can feel Spring slowly creeping in San Francisco. It’s been super sunny these past few days. Sunset doesn’t start at 5pm anymore. The Fire Horse (the zodiac for 2026 for those of us who celebrate Lunar New Year) is right around the corner, so I’m definitely feeling the boldness, the determination, the “wild horse” energy that’s about to unleash.
I’m stepping into a very busy season. Non-stop traveling and socializing. Partnering with local collectives on organizing community events. Coffee chats with old friends and new friends. I looked at my calendar for February and my weekends are booked until March. It’s a lot, I’m not gonna lie. I was a bit overwhelmed when everything started happening all at once, but this is what I’ve been working toward since last year.
To prepare for this season busy, I spent all of January just resting. I’ve been going to coffee shops to watch people, and to just sit. When I was not sitting at a coffee shop, I was lying down on my couch with my cat Shibu. Yes, I forced myself to do nothing all of January so that I will have enough energy for February. And honestly, it was tough. I like to be out and about, and when I’m not physically doing something, I’m still mentally planning for something. But doing nothing for a whole month has allowed me to recharge, and I don’t feel as anxious now that I’m in my busy season. I will talk more about rest and what I learn from resting when I’m back on the pod!
In the mean time, here are some inspirations for this week. Hopefully they will bring you some excitement!
With love, Remey

Phan is a tattoo artist based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Her works are inspired by Vietnamese folk art and literature. Each tattoo design has a story, and there is so much soul in the intricate details of her works. I don’t space on my body for her work, but it’s my goal to collect her prints one day.

DIY charm details
I’m a sucker for all things sparkly, and the ideas of adding jewelry to your clothes is so so brilliant! This is such an easy DIY and can turn a simple clothing item into a statement piece - and I’m a huge fan of remixing items you already in your closet. I will be looking for cute pins and brooches next time I go thrifting!
