Remey’s Inspirations 22
Wine in baby bottles at my friend Iris Wong’s art exhibition 😂
Hi friends!
It’s been an eventful week. I got food poisoning (!!!) last weekend so I spent most of the week recovering. I was pretty worried that I wasn’t going to be able to host an event this weekend but thankfully I felt better after a few days. The sun also came out this weekend and it revived me! It always amazes me how sunshine can literally cure all of my problems 😂
I socialized a lot this week despite the food poisoning situation. I went to a friend’s workshop, another friend’s art exhibition, my own creative event, and got dinner with new friends. Like I’ve mentioned in Season 2 of my podcast, I don’t feel like I have a lot of friends, but there’s always someone I have to see or an event I need to go to. It’s not a bad problem to have, but I do find that funny as a introvert-learning ambivert in this season in my life.
I’m also making my way back to the art world after stepping away for 7 years. I actually wanted to explore SF contemporary art scene at the beginning of this year, and I (once again) manifested this for myself. I met an artist named Iris Wong at an event and she came to my panel discussion on Futures of Creativity in May. Iris invited me to the preview of her solo exhibition VIOLET, which is an exploration on AI, art, and the artist’s relationship with both. I truly feel called to do something with my fine arts background lately, and I’m beginning to figure out what it is. I really hope something good will come out of this calling in the near future.
In terms of my event, it was so much fun! My co-host and I originally envisioned this to be a lowkey co-working session for a small group of creatives. It was definitely chill, because we ended up not doing any work 😂 Well, some people created content during the event, but most of us were just snacking and connecting with new friends. I would say this event was a success by my standards!
Even though I had back-to-back socializing this week, I didn’t feel drained. That’s always a good signal that I was with good company and was aware of my energy limit.
Anyway, I hope you are enjoying summer wherever you are! SF is getting warmer day by day and I’m so so so happy! Bye seasonal depression! See you in 2 months lolol 🤣

Culture
America’s Sweethearts: Texas Cowboy Cheerleaders Season 3
I love this docu-reality series. I don’t know anything about football or cheerleading OR Texas, and I’m as far away from that part of American culture as possible, but I’m OBSESSED! It does a great job at uncovering and critiquing the reality of being a professional dancer (and basically athlete) and the standards and stigma these women have to navigate. I haven’t started Season 3 yet but I’m really looking forward to binging it soon!
Content
No content this week! I’ve been busy EDITING. For both my social media AND podcast. Follow me on IG and check back here for more updates on Season 3 premier!
Fashion
long tops
I love the look of a floor-length top over slacks or denim. It’s such a chic way to dress up without looking too “done”. i also love that you can play around with layers, textures and patterns to keep the outfit interesting. Will definitely add this look to my going-out outfit formulas now that I’m going outside more!
