Building my wine knowledge 🥂

YA’LL.

I’M DONE WITH HOSTING INDUSTRY EVENTS THIS SEASON.

EVERYTHING HALLELUJAH. EVERYTHING.

I broke my back carrying all the changes that happened in the last few months. No like literally. I pulled a back muscle doing laundry while prepping for another industry event I co-hosted last week. Don’t ask me how. The universe broke my back to force me to stay put. I finished the chores I needed to do, lied down on my couch, and took a fat nap. Sleep came over me like a weighted blanket on an anxious night.

I haven’t relaxed in a very long time. My therapist thinks I enjoy a bit of pressure, and downtime makes my emotions heavy. I’m not sure why I’m wired this way, but there were times in the past where I got sick and/or injured because I was doing too much, and the universe was like, ok that’s enough. I would be bedridden, sleep for 10+ hours everyday, and come back to life.

I’ve been seeing a lot of angel numbers lately. Last time this happened, I landed a job that took me to San Francisco. I wonder what these signs are telling me this time?

I’m looking forward to more casual and fun hangouts this summer. And the World Cup. I’m so so excited to be excited about something, you know? We all need joy and celebration collectively, and if it’s around soccer, so be it. I don’t know much about men’s soccer, but I’m ready to put together some jersey-chic fits this summer.

Starting this week - well, as soon as my back is healed, I’m going ease myself back into working out. I think this injury came from not only stress, but my lack of physical activities due to another injury from working out 😭 There’s no win! I get it, I need to lie down!

One fun update: I’ve been expanding my wine knowledge. I really want to check out local wine bars now that I have less industry events on the calendar. Maybe I’ll host an event at a wine bar 👀 Idk - too ambitious for now. Need to lie down and relax first!!!

Cheers!

Culture

art exhibitions

It’s been 5+years since I left the art world for design, and I feel called to revisit the art world lately. I’ve been going to museum exhibitions, but I want to check out the local art scene. I think the art scene in SF is pretty interesting. There’s a lot of crossover between art and tech. Although I no longer work in the art world, I really want to support the arts as a patron. My dream is to become a collector, but until then, I will attend the exhibitions. We need to keep the arts alive!

ALSO, I’m lowkey excited for SF MoMA x RM exhibition this fall. I’m not a BTS fan, but I got to know them through their latest album, and RM is the first member I could recognize from the band (I have an issue with telling people apart sometimes!)

I think you can learn so much about a person based on their taste in art. It’s a window to their inner world, in a way, especially if they’re a celebrity. There are many Kpop stars who are art collectors, TOP from BIGBANG being one of them. I would actually love to see TOP’s art collection, as he is a very eccentric character. He even approaches his solo work from a performance arts angle, which was very interesting!

Content

Reviving @fromremey

I made a new post for my IG!

I’m trying to learn how to edit videos and reels on my phone (something I hate doing so much). It’s so crazy because I feel like social media is basically like second nature, or for some people - a part of life, but it has always been a struggle for me. I RESIST creating short-form content so much, I can’t even begin to tell you!

After spending many hours on a first cut of this reel on my laptop, then importing it to Edits for a second round of editing, then another hour to find the right music, I got a comment from @violette_fr ✨ I love Violette and her brand, so this was literally the highlight of my night! More motivations for me to post more short-form!

Fashion

silky fabric

Pinterest

I’m really into silky/satin fabric lately, especially now that the weather is getting warmer and I no longer want to wear shorts. I think a silky top or a midi satin skirt can look so chic and so classic, not to mention super breathable and functional. It’s such an easy way to elevate your style, and can be worn throughout the seasons.

Music

I don’t know much about these guys but Spotify recommended me this track and I want more! Vibey, funky, a bit melancholy, and reminds me of summer sunsets 💕

Write me a note below!

What are you excited about in June? Do you have a jam-packed summer or are you taking it slow?
